Bump time.

Joanna Goddard (from A Cup of Joe ) has done a post on maternity wear , for those who might be interested.  I never ordered anything from ASOS, but I kind of wished I would have now.  Here are my posts on maternity finds as well .  A few added things I wish I would have either known or followed advice on or simply liked... 1.  I wouldn't have bought so many maternity clothes at the beginning.  Some (it is nice to have a stretchy panel while your waistline grows), but not as much.  I got excited.  I didn't end up needing a lot of it until later on.  At which point I might have gotten different things.  And you may or may not end up changing sizes. 2.  A lot of people say to buy a size up and wear those things through your second trimester.  And I thought that was bogus, but if I would have followed this advice, I would have many more shirts that I could still wear in a few weeks (I don't think non-maternity pants would have wor...

Ugg-ified.

So, I've been wanting some Uggs for a few years and finally decided to use some Christmas money to buy the classic short ones this week.  And I'm so glad I did.    They may not be the most flattering things, but man, they're so stinking comfy...especially for these pregnant feet!!  No wonder they're so popular.  Now if only this random warm weather and rain would go away so I could wear them more.  Bring on the snow!

34 weeks and a day.

Less than six weeks left.   Holy stinking cow. And seriously, this belly.  I'm trying to figure out how to move around it. { Ann Taylor Loft Maternity Shirt ; James Maternity Twiggy Jeans }

Ann Taylor Loft has 40% off everything on their site for a few days!   Maternity and non-maternity (some of their non-maternity even works as maternity); both are incredible.  I love their use of texture and color.  So fun.  You guys should check it out (p.s. the cardigan selection is great).  Here are a few of my favs. Maternity Ruched Tee Military Wool Jacket with Fur Collar Moody Leaves Ruffle Shell

Stretchy pants.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm tired of my stretchy pants.  I really do think maternity clothes are an amazing invention, but I'm longing for zippers and buttons.  And I'm sick of pulling my pants up every few minutes.  And I don't know how to deal with all my shirts getting shorter (aka my belly getting bigger)...my height has never allowed me that problem.  And I think it's further spurred by the fact that I'm dying to wear some brightly colored tights (like these )...why do they only have maternity tights in black?  Maternity land tends to lack color all around...Bummer.  That said, though, I wanted to put up some of my favorites so far (here was my first set of faves ).  There is some cute stuff.  The type of stuff that has made me feel better, especially during these past few weeks of exponential growth.  :)  Here they are: Gap Maternity  Always Skinny  Jeans. Can I tell you a funny story?

For Aleza's wedding, all of us unbridesmaids wore a purple or yellow dress.  And I found one a few weeks ago in a size up.  Fast forward two weeks, and it gathered weirdly around my tush.  Belly growth spurt (and apparently everywhere else spurt).  So, I wore this dress I have had for many years so I could return the other.  And I liked the way it looked.  But it was tight.  I had to be zipped in and zipped out.  But the funniest part.  I was bending down to get something (which I had vowed not to do for good reason) and I actually fell over (not dangerously so).  Bent at the knees and tumbled like a domino from sheer lack of give.  Somehow, it did not rip.  That, my friends, is the miracle of tweed. Maternity dresses.  They have them for a reason.

Prepared for winter.

I got a discount code (30% off...what!!) and purchased my winter maternity coat from the Gap .  Not gonna lie, it doesn't photograph that well.  It gets a little "glossy" and bag-like in the light.  This was the best we could get.  My first venture into the puffer coat world.  I have to admit that I haven't removed the tags yet.  The poof still makes me a little nervous.  Oh, yes.. and that's one of our dogs, Mookie.  He likes to be wherever we are.  :)

Found.

A cute maternity coat for the winter.  Yay.  I was really starting to think that I wouldn't find anything I actually liked for a reasonable price.  My favorite so far has been a cute Isabella Oliver one , which retails for way more than I can justify for just a maternity coat.  Well...to the rescue, the Gap Maternity long puffer coat .  Honestly, when I saw this photo on-line, I thought "ugggly".  I mean, who needs a puffer coat when you've already got a lot of extra "fluff" going on anyways.  But, after trying it on in person - huge fan.  Maybe not completely my style, but cute.  And, not too big to wear afterwards.  I'll be waiting for a coupon to buy this up.  Buyers beware, though...the one in black pretty much looks like a trash bag.

23 weeks...vaya!

I can't believe it's already three weeks over the half point!!  Oh, wow.  So, just yesterday (the exact 23 week mark), I suddenly felt larger.  All of a sudden.  I don't know if it's my mind or actually happening, but it's so odd.  She's been kicking on and off, some days more than others, but enough so for Zach to actually see my stomach moving the other day! {Shirt: Gap Maternity ; Jeans: Gap Maternity ; Giraffe Bracelet: Forever 21 }

22 weeks and 1 day!

Please ignore the funky craziness going on with my hair...there's nothing like a good side angle photo to flatter. :)  Everything is still going well and she's kicking even more this week! p.s.  really excited about the above  non-maternity find from Ann Taylor Loft!

Maternity Land is Vast.

A little tricky, but vast.  I've fallen in love with my stretchy pants (and as of last week, they no longer became a choice).  They're pretty comfy.  Anyways, I'm going to share a few of my favorite maternity finds so far.  I'm in love with my  James Jeans maternity "jeggings" (found super on sale at Nordstrom ).  They're my first pair of jeggings and they actually happen to make me feel great.  Apparently the idea is to suffocate my legs in hopes that at least one part of me will look smaller.  (Another good find: Gap Maternity's " Always Skinny .") I ordered this shirt in a light blue and I'm waiting to fit into it.   Alanna has the striped version and it looks so cute on her belly! :) Isn't this dress from the Gap too cute?! An awesome trench from Ann Taylor Loft Maternity.  A lot of mulah for a few months, though.  :( Isabella Oliver "Empire Tunic."   Pretty darn cool.  Pretty darn expensive.  The...
