Birthday.

Thanks to my husband (and birthday), I'll be sporting this dress Easter Sunday!  It makes me happy.  Also thanks to Zach, a surprise dinner with friends in St. Louis (at Modesto tapas...you should go) on Friday evening.  We left Ellie (sadly, a screaming Ellie) with my mom and dad and headed to the Lou.  It was such a blast and such a sweet way to celebrate #27.  I felt really loved.  Even the car ride together was a treat.  And I ate so much food that I thought I might burst.  But I kept eating.  And I'd do it all over again.  Bacon-wrapped dates covered in honey, oh my.  p.s.  At our family celebration, my niece gave me a card.  Amber told me she could hear her trying to spell out my name while she was writing it.  Result: Colin.  I'll cherish it forever. p.p.s.  Tres Leches cake my mom got from a bakery in town.  I'd eat that all over again, too. { Anthropologie Sunny Soiree Dress }

Stray Dog.

I don't think I've ever posted about this little bird .  I love this bird with all my heart...I fell in love with him the minute I saw him at Anthro .  And now he's quite possibly one of my most favorite things in our home, perched in our living room ever since we received him as a wedding gift.  And, I just now found the original site where they're sold -  Stray Dog Designs  - so I thought I'd share.  I've thought about moving him to E's room, but I don't think I can give him up out here.

I wish.

I know I'm dreaming, but this lamp would be absolutely perfect for the nursery.  Or any room, for that matter. { Anthropologie Hippity-Hop Lamp via Making It Lovely }

Saving grace.

I'm a little obsessed with Christmas.  You might know this by now.  BUT, I have not decorated yet.  Listened to Christmas music...heck, yes.  Decorated...no.  See, friends, the only saving grace is that I am equally obsessed with having a real Christmas tree.  Therefore, we must wait to get our tree until after Thanksgiving (NEXT week!!!).  Especially if we {I} want it to last.  Call me old-fashioned, but it's what I grew up with.  I don't want it any other way.  Even if that means taking it down while in labor.  I sure hope not.  And I'm not talking about the labor part.  I'm talking about taking it down that soon.  Anybody with me? {That cute ornament, it's from Anthropologie: Golightly's Favorite Ornament }
If I weren't curvy or short.   Or pregnant...I'd wear this dress.  It looks so cool and effortless. { Anthropologie Mantle Dynamics Dress }

The Lou.

As in the place, St. Louis. :) Zach and I drove to STL yesterday to drop him off at the airport for yet another trip. Boo. I'm quite ready for him to be home. He'll be back on Friday for a little over a week before he has to head out again. Anyways, despite the fact I had to say good-bye to him all over again, I had a really wonderful day in the Lou. I love those days where you feel like you can go where you want, whenever you want. I stopped by the mall and happened to find a few things, all of which were priced 50-75% off...Wahoo! Anthropologie was almost empty, meaning I could finally look through the sale racks slowly and deliberately! Here is one of the purchases...a skirt which is a wee bit crazy and bubbly. I'm liking these pictures, because I'm not quite sure how to wear it yet. After shopping, I stopped by Companion , which was amazing. My first experience there was just alright, but I'd heard too many great things, so I had to try again. I had...
