Pink Holidaze

Here we are.  An Ikat diaper bag.  This would have been in the running had it been around last year.   Also, as you know, I love my diaper bag .  Yesterday, though, when my child projectile vomited all over the place (yes. and at church.), I found myself questioning my choice (leather) a little bit.  It didn't end up getting touched, but it was a close call.  Everything else did, though (did I tell you how handy a wet bag is ? :).  Our poor girl went home in a diaper.  That's it.  There's a first time for everything. { OiOi Pompeian Red Ikat Tote }

Now that Eloise is six weeks old, I thought I might write a little update on our stroller (plus car seat)  and let you know how they've fared (I'll write more on the actual car seat later)!  I'm happy to say that overall, I've been quite pleased! We 've actually ended up using the stroller more than I thought we would, so I'm so glad we chose something lightweight and practical!  Right now, the actual seat is off and we simply use the frame with the car seat (above).  I keep it in my trunk (it doesn't take up much space) and just pop it out, click her on and we're on our way.  It took me a few times to get everything down, but now it feels super quick and easy.  To open the stroller, you simply pull up on the tabs (under the handles) and lock it using your foot.  Then you line up the correct part of her car seat until it clicks.  Which is really nice, especially when your dog runs out the front door and you have to get the stroller set up fast ...

My (our? :) diaper bag arrived...and it's just like I expected, maybe even better.  The only thing I don't absolutely love is the changing pad (it's not super wide) or the lining color (I'm a sucker for an awesome lining), but you know...you win some, you lose some.  Here it is.  I'll give it to my mom soon for storage until Christmas day.  Don't mind the really dorky self-portraits.

I'll be interested to see what this looks like when it comes in (although I won't technically receive it until Christmas :), but unless it rings totally untrue to its photos, this will be my diaper bag.  I had a hard time deciding.  I love these ...Bethie's and Alanna 's both look awesome, but I know myself and unzipped bags.  We don't do incredibly well together in stressful situations.  And I like this , but I want shoulder straps and an across the body strap as well.  And this is awesome, but it looks super long in the photos (and if you don't know...I'm super short!).  So, solution found.  I love.  And it's buttery leather.  yum.  And it was on sale for some reason.  double yum.  Also, it supposedly fits a laptop.  Awesome for next June when I will be toting around my school life with baby stuff.  What do you guys think? { Storksak Elizabeth in Camel }

I've got a few favorites so far...here they are!  What do you guys think? Mia Bosse Reese Bag ...very chic.  I don't think I'd get this one, but it's very cool. Kate Spade Barrow Street Anabel Bag ...pretty much gorgeous.  I think that's all I need to say.  :) Kirsten James Alexis Diaper Bag ...my friend Beth has this bag in a bird print (there are lots of different fabric options) and I love it.  It looks like the diaper bag Anthropologie would sell if they had any. Not Rational Kelly Diaper Bag ...for the rock start mom (literally, you need to be to afford it!), it's pretty much like a beautiful leather purse. Tim & Leslie Charlie II Diaper Bag ...similar look to the one above, but a fourth of the price!  In vinyl, not leather, which could be nice around babies.  I love that this looks like a nice purse, too.  And it comes in a lot of colors.
