Awake to Nap.

Eloise got this book for her dad for Valentine's Day.  :)  It's by the same artist who did the poster hanging in our living room.  She ordered it from The Reform School .  Obviously she's very advanced. { Awake to Nap by Nikki McClure}

Chi.

Here's a little photo wrap-up of our time in Chicago...a week later. Our first morning we walked through Oak Park from my aunt and uncle's house to the train station.  I love that place.  The houses are so pretty and it's so close to the city.    Also, I heart trains.  We spent most of the morning at the Art Institute .  Their newer modern wing is really beautiful. Then we spent some time in Millennium Park.  It really doesn't get old.  And I love the way the rest of the city looks from it. Just the three of us.   Gabby met us downtown that afternoon and we did a little shopping.  yay.  And it felt a little like Christmas.  Then we met my aunt and uncle for dinner in Wicker Park at Crust for really yummy pizza. I like Wicker Park.  Highly recommend stopping by these shops: Elevenzees (cutest collection of baby stuff), Renigade Handmade  (reminded me so much of Reform School.  I wanted to buy so much t...

Blissful.

Jill Bliss has some really cool stuff. One of her prints was our third purchase for the house from The Reform School . They're really fun and reasonably priced, which is always nice. Here was our purchase...a "native herb" poster: And here it is all dandied up in our room, next to a print by our friend Courtney (who also did our save the dates for the wedding!)...we finally feel like our room looks homey now, even though it doesn't look like it from this picture!

fun, fun.

The Reform School , a shop in the Silver Lake area of L.A., was a place we made a point to visit after reading about it in Dwell magazine. And, it was just as cool as we thought it would be! Here are a few of the prints we bought (photos from their website), which are hanging on our wall right now! We found a few other small things...their letterpress card selection was amazing and they even had Saipua soaps available! Check out their website for photos of their shop, which is super fun, including fluffy 3-D clouds in the window and pencils in the ceiling!

Calication.

Ever simply fall head over heels in love with a place? Well, it happened. I fell in love with Los Angeles (and it reminded me SO much of our Morocco). I love quite a few places for very different reasons, but this is one I did not expect. All my preconceived notions had led me to believe that I might enjoy L.A. and all it offers, but by no means would I fall in love. Where these "feelings" come from, I have yet to know, but experiences like these make me think I might need to chuck them out the window before touching ground. On the contrary, Zach and I thought we would love San Diego. And it was gorgeous. Beautiful, really. Clean. With wonderful food. But maybe it was the chill in the air, or the quiet calm in the atmosphere...it's like it just didn't take completely. That being said, it's a lovely place and would be great for a relaxing vacation. At the La Brea Tar Pits and LACMA. Dinner at Rosti in Santa Monica I loved these couches in Santa Monica...

Reform School.

This looks like possibly one of the coolest shops ever. It's in LA...fortunately, we happen to be traveling there in a little over a month! Wahoo! :) Most definitely stopping by. Here are some highlights off their website (which is very well-stocked!).
