I did it!

I officially cut my hair.  Like a real  cut ( not like last time ).  I feel so light!  I finally got to the point in the last few months where I was up putting it up almost every day at clinic and feeling just kind of blah and unprofessional.  I thought I'd be super sad, but I'm actually just excited about it.  It takes a lot less time to dry and works more with my natural hair texture.  And, I was so scared that Eloise would flip out (she's obsessed with my hair), but she didn't even notice.  So, here's to a new look!

Cut it.

Hi, friends.  This is like a 'hi, I'm going to have a conversation with you via blog since I don't get to talk to you all much right now.'   So, I cut my hair.  About 5 or 6 weeks ago.  Sadly, I have not seen many people in the past 6 weeks that anyone other than school friends and a few people would know.  Maybe my books and my iPad have noticed?  Perhaps the coffee lady in the library?  The first week I didn't regret it.  It really does take less time.  Starting week two, I started regretting it.  And now I want my long hair back.  I knew this would happen.  How silly.  It really isn't that short, but short enough.   Ponytail-viable, though.  That's important.  I took in a photo of Olivia Palermo's cut as a guide.  And I know I don't look like Olivia Palermo.  That is obvious.  But my hair stylist did a really great cut.  I trust her.  I just want my hair back.  My layer of c...

Uppity-do!

I will attempt this adorable Kate Spade hair-do this week.  It will also serve as "do not chop off hair" motivation. I have finals in a little over a week.  Great, big, looming finals.  I will schedule a few posts for the week.  The real me will be scarce.

Long!

Long or Short ? Long! I had quite a few more layers cut (Myah, I might have brought in a photo of Kate Middleton? :) and some fresh color applied, which makes me feel all new and refreshed.   And taking out some of that bulk for the layers has shortened the drying time at least a little bit.  Also, Eloise has finally started napping (Hallelujah!!!), which means I can now dry it without taking away time with her.  I'm happy with the decision (I can't say I won't be revisiting the decision in a few months... :)!!  Thanks for the input!

Half up, half down.

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days.  A mix of Blogger problems and traveling and babyness.  About to go to sleep, but Kathleen's wedding today was beautiful and I just got to visit with my girlies (Connecting rooms, no less.  Love you girls.).  Eloise screamed a whole lot in the car on the way here (Peoria), but today, she couldn't have been better.  She even fell asleep in Deepika's arms while dancing to rap on the dance floor.  Either way, a quick post now.  This week I hope to post at least a) an update on our cloth diapering experience (very positive!) and b) a surprise giveaway (wahoo!).  Happy Weekend, everyone! I'd like to do this: { via Pinterest }

Long or Short?

Can I get some opinions, please?  I'm thinking of cutting my hair short again.  It's been about three or four years since it's been truly short.  And I tend to like it long now.  I can put it in a ponytail, I can let it dry naturally if I get desperate (Don't judge me.  I promise it's temperamental.  I'd love to be someone who can just let their hair go without looking like a wackado.).  Either way, Eloise keeps pulling on it (which I actually find kind of endearing, but it hurts), it gets stuck when I lean my head on anything, and it takes forever to dry (I've got a lot of it).  I usually make my hair-drying/straightening time into tummy time on the bed for Eloise, but I found myself looking at her laying on the bed the other day, thinking, "seriously...I'd really rather be spending this 5 or 10 minutes with my child."  Some days I can let it air dry mostly, but when June rolls around, I'll have to dry it right away to get out of the door....
