* A wonderful trip to Chicago last weekend (photos below).  Without Eloise.  Missed her but it was very nice.  And we ate looots of good food.
* Also, during which we went to The Land of Nod store.  First time I saw all the products in person.  It did not disappoint one bit.
* I'm currently in my elective rotation, Endocrinology (translation: lots of diabetes and thyroids).  And I like it.  It's really interesting.  And the schedule is nice.  Surgery rotation will begin in 4 weeks.
* Eloise is VERY energetic right now.  Which means she's very entertaining.  It also means she is testing our/her limits as well.  It's trying and fun at the same time.
* I started reading the Hunger Games in Chicago.  Holy cow, it's good.  Everyone had told me that, but after seeing the movie, I became even more motivated to read it.  Can't wait to read more...
* I'm finally starting to see the light with PA school.  There are still quite a few days when I feel down and discouraged (there is still SO much to learn), but overall, I enjoy clinic.  Which means that even though I miss Eloise, it makes it at least a little easier to be away.  Also, time is going so quickly.  I'm now in rotation 4 of 9.
* Rotation 4/9 means I will be getting a job in less than a year.  Uuummm, eeeeks!

  1. I was so happy that we got to spend time together yesterday!
Pics from chicago look really nice! And so nice that you went without baby! I wish I could do that soon!

Stocking time!

So, I know not everyone is ready for the holidays, but if we’ve been friends for any amount of time, you’re probably aware of my Christmas obsession.  Plus, the addition of kid number three right before the holidays/feeling essentially miserable being this pregnant have given me motivation to get things done early. Our stockings are hung by the chimney with care (yay for having a mantle!) already, and we'll be putting up our tree tonight (first artificial tree ever for me - still not quite sure how I feel about it...).  I’m working some kind of combo fall/Christmas tablescape in the dining room since we’ll be hosting Thanksgiving here, but otherwise it's all Christmas, all the time.  Anyways, the point is that I’ve had a lot of people ask about our stockings over the past few years, and I thought I’d  take the opportunity to provide the information, as well as some other adorable options.  Maybe it will cut down on shopping time for even just a few of you?

Here’s our set-up a…

Current clothing faves.

Regular blogging, she said, right?  Whoops.  Seriously...I'm trying.  I swear I'll get more consistent.  Anyways...
Madewell is killing me right now.  The idea of spending more on maternity clothes that won't fit in three months is too much to stand, but I am still running out of stuff to wear, so I decided to try some things on the in the store recently (Holla - store close to home!) and holy cow, they are winning this season.  Madewell is one of those brands that I find doesn't look as cute on the website or hangers as it does in person.  Here were my favorites...Some outer layers to wear over maternity tanks and tees and then a few other tops that can expand.

This long cardigan.  I typically don't wear long cardigans because of my height, but this one seems to work - I think it must be the weight.

Look at this you guys.  You are wearing a sweatshirt.  But you look like you are wearing a structured jacket.  BOOM.

This shirt is incredible. Works with a belly, bu…

You guys.  These are by far these worst videos ever made.  Yet I made them.  That's your first piece of information.  Second - why?  Why on earth would you post these silly, low-quality videos? I've had some people ask about my hair recently, specifically the waves/curls I've been doing. And, we've all talked about getting together, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.  So, here you go.  I can't wait to get my first thumbs down on YouTube.  Also, I am completely aware that there are much more important things going on in the world right now. 🙂
The main product that makes the difference for me is my curling iron, The Beachwaver (I use the S1 most of the time, S .75 less often).  I swear I'm not trying to sell it. I just really, really like it.   I realize it is a lot of money for a curling iron, so it's an investment (the 20 % off coupons from Ulta apply to this product when they're available and you can apply for their points system - I got min…
