We had a lovely dinner with friends last night and I made one of my favorite treats from our beloved North African country (via France). Oh, Chez Paul...how I miss thee. This was my second attempt to make macaroons...the first time was quite unsuccessful. I used a recipe which require no almond grinding this time. Sorry, Martha. I'm just not that great with lots of steps. :(

Macaroons are hard to resist. They have the most amazing texture. They come in bright colors. They look like tiny, adorable sandwiches. They're mostly sugar and eggs. They're filled with goodness. Simply divine. Simply fattening.
