Merry Christmas!!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.    And he will be called...  Wonderful Counselor ,  Mighty God,  Everlasting Father,  Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 So thankful for this fact...He is truly all of these things!  Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

Christmas is coming.

Sorry I've been so MIA recently.  Just finished exams today and hoping I am truly done (still a chance of remediation next week if I didn't do well).  I am exhausted .  Mind and body-wise.  These past few weeks have been just a lot in general.  And I shoved so much into my brain these last week that I truly thought it was going to burst.  But, I didn't cry during finals week for the first unit.  Such an accomplishment!  haha.  And I learned a lot this unit, plus it went by SO fast this time.  I feel like it's only been a few weeks, but lo and behold, it's been way more.  And I'm now 3/5 done with the first year!!  Wowza.  So, now it's time to get excited about Christmas!!  Yes, please!   Here are some pics of Christmas tree shopping the day after Thanksgiving and Eloise loving the Christmas tree.  It's the sweetest.  The poor baby is not feeling too hot right now and screamed a lot tonight, but tomo...

Yes.

For our home, I would like. Happy Christmastime.   {Found via Oh So Beautiful Paper }

In preparation...

...for the most wonderful time of the year, these sweet felt trees from The Land of Nod.  I am SO looking forward to Christmas.  My favorite time of year in general, but this year it will be even sweeter for many reasons.   Things are going so fast and so slow all at the same time right now.  I literally thought I wrote my last post a few days ago.  It was two weeks!  Argh.  My second set of finals will occur in less than a week.  I am attempting not to freak out every day.  Attempting, not so much doing.  My mind is so small, and there is so much to know.  Pray pray pray, Colleen, and trust that God will bring you through what he brought you to...  :)  You might see a few study break relief posts in the next few days, and if not, I'll see you all in a few weeks!  Oh, and maybe one more post tonight...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Happy Christmastime! As you can tell, our tree is a wee bit too tall.  :)

Fun project.

Here's a cute and simple holiday wreath you can make using embroidery hoops ( they're very handy ) from Creature Comforts Blog  (via Making It Lovely ).  I believe I'll pop out a few of these this week.

Company.

So, I've given in to decorating just a little bit.  :)  And my transition, kind of Christmas movie, " You've Got Mail " is keeping me company while I do so.  Well, Nora Ephron is ( her new book is out!) as I watch the movie with her commentary.  The commentary is about as good as the movie.  It makes me feel like I'm visiting New York.  And it led me to this awesome book quite a few years back:  The Great Good Place  (i f you like coffee shops, you might like it, too!).  Okay...back to my decorating!

Chi.

Here's a little photo wrap-up of our time in Chicago...a week later. Our first morning we walked through Oak Park from my aunt and uncle's house to the train station.  I love that place.  The houses are so pretty and it's so close to the city.    Also, I heart trains.  We spent most of the morning at the Art Institute .  Their newer modern wing is really beautiful. Then we spent some time in Millennium Park.  It really doesn't get old.  And I love the way the rest of the city looks from it. Just the three of us.   Gabby met us downtown that afternoon and we did a little shopping.  yay.  And it felt a little like Christmas.  Then we met my aunt and uncle for dinner in Wicker Park at Crust for really yummy pizza. I like Wicker Park.  Highly recommend stopping by these shops: Elevenzees (cutest collection of baby stuff), Renigade Handmade  (reminded me so much of Reform School.  I wanted to buy so much t...

Saving grace.

I'm a little obsessed with Christmas.  You might know this by now.  BUT, I have not decorated yet.  Listened to Christmas music...heck, yes.  Decorated...no.  See, friends, the only saving grace is that I am equally obsessed with having a real Christmas tree.  Therefore, we must wait to get our tree until after Thanksgiving (NEXT week!!!).  Especially if we {I} want it to last.  Call me old-fashioned, but it's what I grew up with.  I don't want it any other way.  Even if that means taking it down while in labor.  I sure hope not.  And I'm not talking about the labor part.  I'm talking about taking it down that soon.  Anybody with me? {That cute ornament, it's from Anthropologie: Golightly's Favorite Ornament }
